Fellowship

The members of our church believe that fun and fellowship are critical elements to building relationships within the church. Highlighted below are many of the events held throughout the year which offer social opportunities to members of all ages.

Theater Trips
At various times during the year we charter a bus into Chicago or go to a local theater to enjoy a show and then return for appetizers at a member’s home or a local restaurant. Check with the church for a current schedule.

Annual Golf Outing
Summer -- Held at a nearby golf course followed by a picnic in a nearby park.

Church Picnics, Brunches, and Festivals
These are great events with food, fun and fellowship for all.

Adult Basketball and Volleyball

Using our fellowship hall, these opportunities provide fun times, exercise and fellowship.

Dinner Club

Winter, spring and autumn -- Casual dinners held in our homes. Dine three times in a year with a different group each time.

Annual Progressive Dinner

Winter -- Appetizers in one home, dinner in another and dessert at yet a third home. An absolutely wonderful evening.

Coffee Fellowship

Every Sunday between our worship services -- Weekly opportunity for coffee, juice, donuts and conversation!

Biking Fellowship
These summer trips are intended for biking individuals and families. Anyone high school age or above may come as an individual. Younger persons may come with their families.

Spring Brunch
Spring -- An event for everyone to enjoy. Good food and fellowship welcome the many pleasantries of spring.

Women's Fellowship

We welcome all generations of women in the church to participate in Women’s Fellowship the first Wednesday of the month in the church parlor from September through May at 9:00 am with the exception of December and June when we have events, in the spirit of Christian fellowship.  We hold rummage sales, bake sales, and participate in the needs and projects of the church. We donate our funds and talents to our church, to local and worldwide community needs, and to missions here and abroad. We invite you to join us.

Building Maintenance and Garden Angels

Members meet the third Monday of each month at 8:30 am for fellowship and to perform tasks of repair and maintenance around the church building. The Garden Angels are members and friends who help weed, plant, water, and do maintenance of the grounds.

Brunch Brunch

This group of “young at heart” single women meet regularly with the senior pastor for brunch. There is always good fellowship and conversation.

Annual Women's Retreat
An annual women’s retreat gives the women of the church an opportunity to grow in their faith with lots of fun, food and fellowship. We have held the retreat at Aurora University’s George Williams Campus on Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and at Pilgrim Park, our UCC church camp usually in the fall.

Annual Men's Retreat
A men’s retreat is held in different places. The men have an opportunity to grow in faith with lots of fun, food and fellowship.

Church Family Camp
Church family camp is a unique opportunity for the entire family to share in fellowship with other members of our church family. This yearly event began for our congregation in the summer of 1998 at the La Foret Retreat and Conference Center located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Daily excursions and fellowship opportunities fill this fun-packed week. Family camp is held annually in various locations within the United States. In August, 2002, Family Camp was held at Cedar Lakes in Ripley, W. Virginia. In 2003 Family Camp was held at Geneva Point Center in New Hampshire July 20-25. In 2004 Family Camp is in Blowing Rock North Carolina from Aug. 1-7. In 2005 it was again at La Foret in Colorado from August 7-13.  2007 found our families in Door County, Wisconsin. A great activity for all ages.

There are many more activities for all ages. Please check with the church office 630-584-0929 for current information.
