| Chili Cook Off & Open Mic February 11, 2012 It’s time once again for the Chili-Cook Off. Have you always wanted to perform at Church but only know rowdy blues songs? Well, now’s your chance. This year we will be hosting a UCC all-church open mic during the chili cook-off. Come share your talent, solo or in a group, with the chili eaters (and wine and beer drinkers). Best of all, you don’t have to do church music! New Members Received February 12, 2012 at 9:30 Service An orientation evening will be held on Monday, February 6 at 7:30pm in the Parlor. Childcare is available during the orientation. Please contact the office if you have questions about membership and if you need childcare for the orientation. 175th Anniversary March 4, 2012 We are looking for pictures of you and any family wedding and/or baptism that has taken place either in this church or at the previous location in downtown St. Charles. Please be sure to put your name on the back of the photo so it may be returned after the event. You may wish to give us a copy. We are also looking for pictures and artifacts of past events to portray the history of our church. A box has been placed in the office marked “Items for the 175th Anniversary” in which to place the items. Vacation Bible School July 16 - 19, 2012 Monday through Thursday from 9:00-11:30am and Thursday, July 19 from 5-6:30pm for 4 year olds through 5th graders. There will be Bible stories, music, games, snacks, science experiments, mission projects, crafts and more. Don’t miss the fun. For questions or to receive a registration form, call the church office at 630-584-0929 and ask for Sue Peterson Intentional Travel September 2012 There is room for you to participate in next September’s group going to Israel/Palestine. Pick up a brochure at church or speak with John. Or, join us at our next group meeting on Sunday afternoon, January 8, time and place to be determined. Rebecca Reber, a member and teacher at St. Charles North High School, will join us to lead a discussion on the origins of the Jewish state and begin our study of the contemporary issues of Israel and the region.
